Winter break: December 21, 2026 to January 1, 2027, back January 4. March break: March 15–19, 2027. Both are the same for every publicly funded board in Ontario.

When is Christmas break 2026 for Ontario schools?
Ontario’s winter break runs from Monday, December 21, 2026 to Friday, January 1, 2027. Schools are closed for the whole break and students go back on Monday, January 4, 2027.
When is March break 2027 in Ontario?
Monday, March 15 to Friday, March 19, 2027. It is the same week for every publicly funded school board in Ontario.
Are Ontario schools closed on Remembrance Day?
No. Remembrance Day is not a school holiday in Ontario. Schools stay open and usually hold an assembly with two minutes of silence at 11 a.m.
Is Easter Monday a school holiday in Ontario?
Yes. Ontario schools are closed on Good Friday (March 26, 2027) and Easter Monday (March 29, 2027), even though Easter Monday is not a statutory holiday for most workers.
When are PA days in Ontario?
Each school board sets its own PA days, usually six or seven a year. Check your board’s calendar; examples for two boards are on this page.
