Sources and how we verify
Every holiday, date and rule on this site comes from an official government source or a published religious calendar. Here is each one.
Last checked against official government sources on . Sources
How we keep it accurate
- Statutory holidays, weekend rules and holiday pay are checked against each province’s and territory’s employment standards office, its statute where available, and the Government of Canada.
- Rule-based dates (Easter, Victoria Day, Family Day and others) are calculated, then cross-checked against government holiday lists.
- Religious dates are checked against at least one published calendar for each faith, using Eastern Time where dates depend on location.
- Every build runs automated checks that stop the site from publishing if a year is missing dates or the data hasn’t been re-verified recently.
- We publish dates for 2026, 2027, 2028 and add the next year each October.
